GSTV and Digital Media Group Debut New Programming
In January, Student Media introduced a variety of new programming through GSTV and its newest organization, the Digital Media Group (DMG).
The GSTV production team rolled out premieres of four new programs on its Youtube channel. Stuck is a fictional anthology series directed by lead staff writer/director, Hannah Sauber. The first episode follows a protagonist on a never ending job hunt. The station also debuted two new comedic programs: Stuff & Things with People, a sketch program from Ben Martin, and The Morning Show, a parody of morning news programs, directed by Sean Evans. Zachary Bankhole hosts the station’s newest talk program, Love and War, a program about relationships.
In addition, the Digital Media Group debuted a series of podcasts as a preview to the content that will be featured on its website to be launched in February. You can find these podcasts on their Youtube channel. In addition to the website, the Digital Media Group is also developing a mobile app for free download that it also hopes will be available in February.
The Digital Media Group is not only going to be a showcase of original content, but an outlet for all of the media groups to distribute their content. The students plan to have one mobile resource for people to find their Album 88 stream, their news stories, their creative programming and so forth. It will be a true convergence of the groups’ content.

DMG podcasts include:
- Movies @ State, a discussion of cinema from two of the university’s most fanatical film students, Ivan Lichtenstein and Jackson Witsell.
- What I’m Watching, a program where DMG General Manager Stephen Cavallaro talks with GSTV’s Technical Supervisor Casey Williams about his favorite, and not so favorite, television programming.
- Poetry Peeps, with Underground’s Kelly Barraza and guests, discussing poetry on and off of the Georgia State University campus.
