Modern Media Conference

D.W. Pine will be the featured speaker at the 2015 Modern Media Conference, to be held on September 25-26, 2015 at Student Center East.

The two-day event will be free for Georgia State University students. Further details will be added to this page on how students can register.

D.W. Pine is the Creative Director at TIME Magazine, where he is responsible for the cover design and look of one of the world’s most recognizable magazines. In addition to the weekly magazine, Pine leads TIME’s design and editorial brand direction, as well as the tablet and iPhone editions. He has designed more than 200 TIME covers, including the past seven Person of the Year and TIME 100 issues, the 9/11 anniversary, the deaths of Osama Bin Laden and Steve Jobs and the much-talked about breast feeding cover.

Prior to TIME, he was the Features Design Director at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution from 1992 to 1998, the Design Coordinator for the AJC’s coverage of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and was also a sportswriter at the AJC from 1987 to 1992. Pine, a 1992 Georgia State University graduate, was also the editor-in-chief, news editor and sports editor of The Signal.
