Students can pick up a copy of The Signal’s Urbanite Summer Magazine for a go-to guide to navigate Georgia State University — from the Atlanta campus to the wide-ranging Perimeter College locations throughout the metro area.

With articles on making the most of the college experience — whether it’s time management or extracurricular opportunities — the Urbanite offers students a comprehensive list of ideas, tips, and hacks.

Treat this as your how-to guide to Georgia State. Our Urbanite Summer Magazine will guide you through what housing options are available, where to park your ride, how you can get involved, what spots to visit, Panther Hacks, security, and catch you up on the university’s sports scene.

For students poised and ready for fall football kick off, the Urbanite provides a preview of gridiron glory in the university’s brand-new Georgia State Stadium (previously Turner Field). There’s a complete football schedule inside the magazine’s back cover — perfect for posting on your refrigerator for quick reference.

Tips and tidbits abound for students seeking curricular success as well, ranging from internship advice to a professor’s tips on how to avoid rookie mistakes in the college classroom experience.

It is not all about the field and the classroom: Students looking for a place to live, a place to park, or a way to stay fit will find help in the Urbanite. And since few can survive college without plenty of coffee, the magazine points to places for coffee breaks, food opportunities, and even a yoga studio.

Coffee-seekers, music-junkies, fitness-lovers: Georgia State’s Downtown community has a place for everyone.

The Signal staff has produced a summer magazine for Georgia State students since 2014. It is a particularly helpful guide for students in orientation sessions throughout the summer months.

Copies of the Urbanite are available on newsstands throughout Georgia State as well as in The Signal offices in Suite 250 of Student Center West. The Signal’s first print edition of the Fall semester will be on newsstands on August 22.

The opportunities are endless, the resources plentiful, and our university guarantees a niche for all kinds of characters and tastes.
